MUFF SF x Mean Girls
#MUFFxSF - Mean Girls (Aug 6)
Our second MUFF Society San Francisco screening went off without a hitch! It was the eve before the annual epic Outside Lands, but we still had folks come out for the screening, and, shut up, it was totally awesome. Arguably, we made fetch happen.
We opened with our photobooth featuring local photographer Sya Warfield. Though people were shy to step up and get their picture taken, we had four amazing ladies who dressed up as their favorite characters—AND THEY WERE SPOT ON. WE GIVE THEM ALL OF THE PRIZES.
Our raffle was sponsored by some of our favorite San Francisco local businesses. Both Sea Star bar and Ambiance donated gift cards to the raffle. Our winners will be happily drinking in the Dogpatch, and beautifully styled by Ambiance’s amazing boutique clothing.
But the best part of the evening was screening Carla Patullo’s short film Cinderella, A Shadow Ballet. Carla and Co. reimagined this incredible short film by Lotte Reiniger from the early 1920s. She composed the score as her musical moniker, White Widow, and it’s possibly one of the most beautiful and haunting pieces of music you’ll ever hear.
Read more about White Widow here.
And the story ends with a theater full of folks laughing their asses off at Tina Fey’s masterpiece: Mean Girls. All in all, we can’t wait for September 10th’s screening of Whip It.
