MUFF TO x Punisher War Zone
#MUFFxTO - Punisher: War Zone (July 15, 2015)
To everyone who missed out on this night: SUCCKKKKSSS TO BE YOU. But seriously: we had an amazing night full of no parkour and a taxidermy rat and a rad short film and you didn't. Maybe next time you'll listen to us and come out, eh? Eh?
Anywho, we were pretty stoked for our Punisher: War Zone screening. It definitely wasn't a traditional "girly" film and while some may argue it isn't "feminist" at all, we firmly believe that a woman directing an R-rated film is a huge feminist feat so take that.
Our photobooth had some rad props, thanks to Co-Producer Lisa and her crafting skills. Doug helped too:
As well, we were absolutely thrilled to have actor Keram Malicki-Sanchez in attendance. He stayed to do a Q&A and it was so much fun chatting about PWZ with him. Definitely follow him on Facebook and Twitter if you aren't already. And check out his rad website! DO IT.
Our raffle prize was extra special this month thanks to an absolutely bitching (do people still say that?) donation from one of our favourite comic shops: The Beguiling. Honestly, it was really hard not to keep these. I mean, come on:
But, really, the star of this screening were our sparkly Punisher pins. If only it would make sense to have them at every screening. Because we totally would.
We were also so humbled to get to show a very special video message from director Lexi Alexander. And now we're gonna share it here with you guys because it's just so damn cute. Thank you, Lexi!
Okay, that's an awful lot of fun stuff for one post, don't you think? Thank-you as always to the Carlton for being the best cinema ever, to our #MUFFFriends: The Candy Bar, Cinefilles, Coal Miner's Daughter, and Jordan de Ruiter Clothing for the awesome raffle prizes, and to our awesome audience for supporting us every month.
You can check out more awesome pictures (including a lot of that aforementioned taxidermy rat, because obviously) on our FB page. And rock out to our #MUFFMix v. 07 when you're bored at work later, alright?
