MUFF TO x Pitch Perfect

MUFF TO x Pitch Perfect

#MUFFxTO - Pitch Perfect (May 14, 2015

When we realized that the available Thursday for our MUFF screening fell on the day before the release before Pitch Perfect 2, we knew it was a sign... from the aca-gods! Pitch Perfect was meant to happen. And boy did it ever.

We had such a blast reliving all of our favourite Pitch Perfect moments. Even better: there were quite a few people who had never seen the movie before our screening. One, how dare you and two, glad we could help with that.

MUFF always makes a marquee look better, fact.

This screening also marked two firsts for The MUFF Society: limited edition swag (ouuuuu la la) and a trivia contest. We had a small amount of I HAVE A TONER pins printed, with all proceeds going directly to making MUFF even more MUFFtastic. Real talk: even the people who hadn't seen Pitch Perfect knew they needed a pin. Because musical boners, guys. Musical boners.

That's my dick.

That's my dick.

We've had costume contests in the past but this time we wanted to make it a little more challenging, since we were giving away a super sweet prize pack: candy from The Candy Bar, a pass for two at Cineplex which was hopefully used to see Pitch Perfect 2, a DVD copy of The Voices, directed by Marjane Satrapi and featuring Anna Kendrick, and a DVD copy of Bachelorette, directed by Leslye Headland, featuring Rebel Wilson. The presentation was a little rough around the edges (it'll be better next time!) but we had some killer questions (quick, what subject does Beca's dad teach?! Who does Bumper think is amazing live?! What is the sock puppet team called?!?!) and four teams battled it out for the prize. In the end a kid named Charles won. And we don't mean "kid" in an endearing sense: he was literally a small child. Pitch Perfect is his favourite movie and he proved it that night. WE ARE NOT WORTHY, CHARLES!

As always, a very special thank-you to the Royal for hosting us, and for the last time too. It's always sad to say goodbye (especially to such an awesome theatre), but we are very excited to be launching at our new home, Carlton Cinema, next month! As well, thank-you to The Candy Bar for providing such delicious treats.

Here's a few pictures from the evening, with some more on our FB Page. And if you wanna keep that toner going, we think our #MUFFMix can help with that.
