MUFF TO x But I'm A Cheerleader
MUFF TO x But I'm A Cheerleader (June 15)
It’s Pride month, everybody!
To celebrate this amazing month, we teamed up with Inside Out and screened one of our favourites, But I’m a Cheerleader by Jamie Babbit. This film stars not only the inimitable Natasha Lyonne, but also Clea DuVall, RuPaul, Mink fuckin’ Stole and SEVERAL other drool-worthy names. The screening was preceded by our MiniMUFF selection Gay Mean Girls by Heyishi Zhang, and it was an all around fantastic night.
We had tons of pre-show fun in the lobby, with a bunch of spot-on hilarious quote bubbles such as the very factual “Orgasms make people feel good” and the very un-factual “Foreplay is for sissies.”
Check out the babezillas that came out (hehe) to our MUFF event:
Honestly there are so many ridiculously adorable people who come out to our screenings with their big happy faces that I want to post every single photo we took but I cAN'T BECAUSE LIFE IS SO GODDAMN UNFAIR. Fortunately, you can see the rest of the photos on our FB page! (Where I regularly just click through all the photos and cry at how beautiful you all are TBH. Don't judge me.)
OKOKOK one more photo. Here's Lisa and I with MiniMUFF June director Heyishi Zhang:
Thanks to all of our amazing sponsors, the prizes this month were:
-Two tickets to any future MUFF screening and one of three blu-rays of prior MUFF flicks (Clueless, Bring It On or Mean Girls) from us gals
-The Beguiling Books & Art donated a hardcover copy of Womanthology Space, which is entirely created by women
-A bag of ridiculously tasty candy from The Candy Bar
-One of two sexy surprise prize packs from our June sponsor The Condom Shack! (Remember: foreplay is definitely not for sissies!)
MUFF would like to once again thank our amazing sponsors who make our screenings so much fun, as well as our special home, The Carlton Cinema! Thank you so much and we'll see you next month for Tank Girl!
