MUFF x TIFF: Beyond Badass
In the most exciting news since sliced bread, we are beyond (hehehe) thrilled to announce that The MUFF Society is the official Community Partner for TIFF's Beyond Badass: Female Action Heroes series.
Yassssss, partttyyyy.
It's the perfect fit, if you ask us. We're all about celebrating women in cinema in all forms and this series challenges the idea of what a "feminist film" can be by challenging our perceptions of the types of characters women can portray on screen. Because women can play any character they damn well want. (It's just being given the opportunity that's the problem. Ahem.)
About time TIFF and MUFF got together.
And all of these women, and these characters are So. Damn. Bad. Ass. From the incomparable Pam Grier in Foxy Brown to Linda Hamilton in Terminator to Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider and right up to the current reigning queen herself, Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max, this series has it all.
