MUFF TO x Drop Dead Gorgeous
#MUFFxTO - Drop Dead Gorgeous (September 23)
You guys. Our Drop Dead Gorgeous screening was amazing.
For one, our photobooth was seriously stacked: we had tiaras, Teen Princess sashes, a very sexual Washington Monument headpiece, a Mount Rushmore prop, and of course as always, we had plenty of speech bubbles (“MOST SMARTEST” and “ARE WE ON COPS” were definitely some of the most chosen, but my personal favourite was “THEY REMADE MY BELLY WITH SKIN FROM MY BUTT”). We also sold out of our limited edition buttons from the screening, which is sort of a bummer for me because I didn't get the chance to grab a "JESUS LOVES WINNERS" one, but I GUESS I'll live.
Although everyone was peppy and amazing, our pre-show fun was raised to a whole new level when a group of hardcore DDG fans came and stoked the MUFF fire even more, bringing an electricity to the crowd that can only be described as midnight movie mentality. Which is all just so awesome we’re still smiling ear-to-ear about it.
Although our costume contest was a flop, myself and my co-producer Lisa still showed up decked out in our best red, white and blue talent costumes with paint on our butts, and happily jumped into any photo we were asked to be in.
We had three prize winners this time around for answering some Drop Dead Gorgeous trivia:
Our third prize winner got a ton of tasty, tasty candy from The Candy Bar, our second prize winner got a scarf from Coal Miner’s Daughter and a copy of Sakuran from The Beguiling, and our grand prize winner got crowned Miss Teen Princess with a sash, tiara and bouquet (I believe some people in the audience were even singing the American Teen Princess song), she also received a gift certificate from The Hair Shop for a shampoo, style cut and blow dry, a necklace from Coal Miner’s Daughter and a copy of The Building Opposite from The Beguiling. And then like the amazing angel that she is, she took this Instagram photo of it with her ridiculously cute cat:
We’d once again like to thank our amazing sponsors The Carlton Cinema, Cinefilles, The Hair Shop, The Candy Bar, The Beguiling and Coal Miner’s Daughter for providing us with support, a home, and of course, a BUNCH of amazing gifts to give to our ridiculously awesome crowds.
Toronto, we’ll see you on October 14th for Ginger Snaps, co-presented by Cinefilles (together, forever)!
