MUFF x Legally Blonde

MUFF x Legally Blonde

Welcome to the most incredibly late recap eveeeerrrr! See, I don’t know if you know me personally, but I am a full on trash-bag because writing a recap about Legally Blonde is obviously tantamount to anything else in my life (I mean —I have been drowning in an ocean of my own work and that’s probably a fairly good reason, probably). On October 12 the MUFF crew returned with an ode to what’s lawful and important, specifically, how good Legally Blonde is.

Rushing into the doors of the Carlton once again, everyone came ready to bask in the glory of not only Elle Woods, but also author Amanda Brown (whose novel the film was adapted from), screenwriters Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, and of course, the glorious Reese Witherspoon. Check out some of the awesome folks that came by, including two super-fans dressed AS ELLE AND VIVIAN (ABOVE!!!).

We also had our amazing poster artist Elize Frances come in to the lobby to sell some of her seriously perfect Legally Blonde prints, of which all of us freaked the hell out about because they’re hilarious. Sorry (not) to my roommate who now has to deal with the fact that our apartment is decorated in exclusively Legally Blonde prints.

Um, also, side note, can we talk for a second about how Osgoode Perkins, spawn of the Norman Bates and mastermind behind such creep-outs like The Blackcoat’s Daughter, and this year’s I Am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House plays, DORKY DAVID IN THIS MOVIE?!

To give away our prizes, we started off the night with a bend and snap contest, of course, which made me giggle like the 5 year-old that I (not so) secretly am.

You want a prize low-down?! OF COURSE YOU DO.

- a pink-themed sexy surprise prize pack from Condom Shack

- a pink-themed prize pack of tasty candy from The Candy Bar

- a copy of Hot Or Not: 20th Century Male Artists + a TON of The Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack comics from The Beguiling Books & Art

- three of our favourite Reese flicks: Sweet Home Alabama, This Means War, and Vanity Fair (2004 movie).

- a gift basket of the necessities: the biggest, pinkest, sparkliest pillow we could find; skin care products; aromatherapy candles; a loofah; and—of course—the bible (Cosmo)

We’d like to thank everyone who came out to this screening, and give a special shout out to our home The Carlton Cinema. Join us for our next screening, the HER-Story launch with Angry Inuk.
