Listen Up: The Future of Toronto MUFF
Siân here.
I guess it's time to make an official announcement. Many of you heard at our Toronto screening earlier this month, and anyone who's FB friends with me has been bombarded with The Most British Gifs Ever but here it goes:
I'm moving to England at the end of the month. As in next week. As in I should probably start packing soon. Now, now, I'm not entirely crazy. This wasn't something I completely decided on a whim. I've been wanting to for a few years now and set the entire thing in motion in June.
And now here we are: with me diligently making plans to visit every Doctor Who filming location and you wondering what does this mean for Toronto MUFF–and even MUFF at large.
Luckily The MUFF Society is exactly what I wanted it to become: way more than just me. And what I mean by that is our Toronto community is amazing, vibrant and is growing by leaps and bounds and the Toronto MUFFians are fully capable of moving forward without me. So never fear, because Toronto will MUFF on!
Lisa, who has been my Co-Producer since the spring, and Richelle, who has been our amazing Blog Editor, are stepping up as Producers. I dunno about you guys, but I trust 'em:
I've already programmed MUFFxTO's September, October, and November films (more on them soon!) and they are very, very excited to be presenting them to you guys. But I'm even more excited to see what they decide to program moving forward after that. These are two talented ladies and I can't wait to see what they do with our MUFF.
Hehehehe.
And what does that mean for me? Well, I'll be stepping into more of a Founder/Pretty Face role. I kid, I kid. Nah, I'll continue to manage the bigger picture operations (you should see how organized our Drive is), offer support to the branches, and continue to manage the main social media accounts. I'll also be working on developing future partnerships that go beyond our local screenings. All in all, exciting!
And, yes, if I have it my way, I'll get my MUFF all up in the UK. They won't know what hit them.
