MUFFTix: Viva Varda

Agnès Varda. It’s hard to even put to words everything she has meant to the film industry and the world. She was truly one of the greats and it’s only fitting that we pay tribute to her through the celebration of her works.

Hot Docs Cinema is hosting a screening of her 2017 film FACES PLACES (VISAGES VILLAGES) on Saturday 8 June. Hit the road with Varda as she and photographer JR hit the road in rural France, visiting villages and small towns to meet and pay tribute to their people and communities along the way.

But wait, there’s more: after the screening, Biggest Zidane Fan Ever Kiva Reardon will be speaking. Kiva is a Hot Dos programmer and founder of our fave cléo journal, which of course took its name from a Varda classic.

We’re super excited to be able to give the gift of Varda to 8 lucky people with 8 pairs of tickets. Which means those winners get to bring a friends so they too are giving the gift of Varda—truly the gift the keeps on giving.
