Submit Now to Breakthroughs 2019!

Calling all new filmmakers! Submissions are open for the 8th annual Breakthroughs Film Festival. This is one of our fave festivals as it champions short films from emerging filmmakers—specifically women-identifying, trans, and non-binary directors.

The early-bird deadline has past but never fear because the late deadline is March 1, 2019. That means you have a little less than a month to get your films submitted. DO ITTTTTTTT.

Also! This is super cool: new for this year, Breakthroughs is offering a limited number of submission waivers to emerging filmmakers who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, and/or people with disabilities. You can find contact info on their submission page.

We’re already counting down the days until the 2019 festival on June 7 and 8, not only because we’re super excited but because it will be summer, which might be the only thing more exciting than supporting women in film.
